Q: Do you think non-standard English will be talked about as standard English in a 100 years?
A: To simply answer your question, no. I do not think non-standard English will be talk about like we talked about standard English in a 100 years. Why? My reasoning for this answer is; In the world we live in today, we use standard English in all the important settings. We do not see politicians or lawyers use non-standard English in their professional settings. The society we live in, has simply chosen to be more laid back with our speech when we talk to friends or family compared to when we have important conversations with a more serious setting. It also seems like people are fine with the way things are. I do not see non-standard English being talked about as standard English, unless something completely changes the way we choose to divide the two types of communicating.
